Krasi Village the Ancient Plane Tree

The Krasi is a small traditional village, the main tourist appeal may be an ancient plane tree; some say it is over 2400 years old. The plane tree is Krasi’s tourist magnet because it is the largest of its kind on the island. While plane trees are a common occurrence on Crete, they have a perimeter of about 24 meters – one meter for each one hundred years of the tree’s existence on Earth. Just across the ancient plane tree of Krasi, there’s Megali Vrisi – a water fountain fed by the springs coming from Mount Selena.

The Aquarium of Crete has for many years been a great attraction for the tourist In the aquarium, you can see mainly fish and other sea animals on the Mediterranean Sea including meter-long sharks and giant turtles. The big fish swim in the very big tanks. The visitors stand amazed in front of the largest tank of the Crete aquarium. In the basin swim over 2 meters long sharks
