Palace of Knossos:

The Palace of Knossos, situated near Heraklion, is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete and is considered Europe’s oldest city. This magnificent palace was the centre of the Minoan civilisation, flourishing around 1900 to 1400 BCE

Cave, Zeus

Zeus Cave is a cave of mystic atmosphere, impressively adorned by large columns, stalactites, and stalagmites. According to mythology, the Dicteaοn Cave was the birthplace of Zeus, the father of the gods, and also the place where he was worshipped.

Krasi Village, the Ancient Plane Tree

The Krasi is a small traditional village; the main tourist appeal may be an ancient plane tree; some say it is over 2400 years old. The plane tree is Krasi’s tourist magnet because it is the largest of its kind on the island. While plane trees are a common occurrence on Crete, they have a perimeter of about 24 meters, one meter for each one hundred years of the tree’s existence on Earth. Just across the ancient plane tree of Krasi, there’s Megali Vrisi – a water fountain fed by the springs coming from Mount Selena.
