The Pastry History Museum:

Currently contains 400 very rare exhibits, 32 of which are unique in the world! Its creator, Kostas Koumakis, in addition to his well-known confectioneries in Heraklion, had a vision to create a space that would gather machinery, tools, books and other objects related to confectionery.

Thus, the mezzanine of the Confectionery was transformed into a unique museum with remarkable exhibits. It offers educational experiential programs for children of various ages by appointment, while it is also a beautiful proposal for school visits (kindergartens, elementary schools, high schools and high schools).

The Megadioramas in the museum’s central exhibition area are representations of Mediterranean ecosystems with an emphasis on Greece and Crete.

In addition, the robotic dinosaur models located both inside and outside the museum are impressive. In the “Living Museum” visitors can observe live vipers, echinoderms, newts, frogs and many other small animals, through a journey from the desert to the wet ecosystems of the Mediterranean.

A unique exhibit of the museum is the “Enceladus”, a Seismic Simulator that allows visitors to experience earthquakes of different intensities in a schoolroom. The "Research Site" is a unique experience for children as it allows them to become archaeologists and dig for fossils, explore the interior of a cave, camp in the forest and experience many other original and interactive games, through which they will learn about nature and its organisms.
