City tour 

Grab the chance to try these wonderful recipes on a tour with 3 different food stops, starting with a Greek coffee or mountain tea and old-fashioned sweet breakfast next to the city’s pensioners reading their morning newspaper. We continue for an hour’s walk along the serpentine alleys of the Venetian quarter with its luxurious architecture and old port, with photo options that will take your breath away.

We then briefly re-enter the present to taste a variety of authentic local dairy and honey, with a tasting of the local spirit and to have a chat with a local sheepherder and learn about a shepherd’s life. With our strength renewed, we stroll for about 1.5hr to a different part of the local history exploring the secret corners of the Ottoman Quarter, still untouched by mass tourism, all the while comparing and contrasting 3 different cultures and 3 different religions which bond to create the unique character of Chania.

Our tour finishes at a traditional kafeneio famous with the locals, for a well-deserved lunch with both animal and non-animal-based dishes, basking in the sun with the sea right at our feet.
