One of the nicest sandy beaches of Crete Damnoni is around 6km to the east of Plakias. There are some facilities like umbrellas, sunbeds and sea sports and a couple of taverns for drinks and food, accommodation is also available.

Within walking distance to the east, there are two smaller beaches nested in small coves. At Damnoni the beach at this resort is beautiful.

Also for nudists, there is a small beach here, at a short walking distance and it is located between the rocks. Various water sports are possible including snorkelling.
