Kolimbari is about 24 km from Chania, at the westernmost end of the Gulf of Chania. The beach is exposed to northern winds and the sea is usually wavy.
It has pebble and grey sand, while one part is organized with umbrellas and sunbeds.
The beach is a breeding ground of turtle Caretta caretta, like the whole region, so it is very likely to see parts of the beach fenced with special cages to protect the nests.
The village is famous for the fish taverns to visit them,
Kolymbari peninsula, Rodopou starts which is included in the Natura 2000 network protection and has an exceptional beauty.
