Almyrida is in the region of Apokoronas at the entrance of Suda Bay, about 2 km after Kalives and 22 km from Chania.
Almyrida is a coastal village that stretches along the beach in about 2 km. The village is relatively small and is primarily touristic, with many hotels and inns. As in neighboring Kalyves, in Almyrida there is an intense building activity in recent years, due to the increased interest of North Europeans to buy land and houses. Entering Almirida you will see the coastal road that crosses the village alongside the beach. On the sea side you will see cafes and restaurants, while at the opposite side of the street there are several shops.
